The Slauson Café was the artful hangout of the South Crenshaw High students and neighborhood families. It is located in South Crenshaw.
History[]
At the beginning of season six, Coop mentions that the café is permanently closed, as Layla bought the place and transformed it into a lounge bar. Layla also reveals that the other potential buyer had planned to turn the café into a hot yoga studio.[1]
Trivia[]
- All of the art is original, many by artists from Leimert Park, such as Keenan Chapman, Jacqui C. Smith and Donare Davis.
- The construction department made the sofas and coffee tables out of wood pallets. The set decorator also used lots of beautiful mudcloth to upholster furniture with custom lighting.
- There is an eclectic back bar, and a sandwich named after the high school football star.
