The seventh season of All American was announced by The CW on June 3, 2024.[1] It aired from January 29, 2025 to May 5, 2025 and consists of 13 episodes.

Premise[]

Jordan, Layla and Coop step into a new chapter as adults, while helping a new generation of Beverly and Crenshaw teens navigate life and football. Jordan and Layla, now blissfully married and living in the Baker house, face new challenges as they juggle their youth, the life they are building together, and their individual careers. Jordan is invigorated as South Crenshaw’s new QB Coach, but struggles to find the line between being his players’ coach and their friend, especially when he has to take one of those players into his home and take on a father figure role way before he is ready. On top of the growing pains, football games, and high school drama, the mystery of Billy Baker’s half-brother’s identity becomes an obsession for Jordan. As for Layla, she must balance her role as wife, producer and club owner while attempting to figure out what’s next for someone who’s already achieved everything at such a young age. Coop finds her place and new friends in law school but struggles when her past comes knocking and she has to finally deal with ghosts that resurface. Meanwhile, a new generation of teens lean on Jordan, Layla and Coop to help them navigate young adulthood, first loves, family drama and football at Beverly and South Crenshaw high. Kingston “KJ” Jeremy is the new starting QB at Beverly, who dreams of following in Spencer James footsteps all the way to the NFL. Complicating that journey is Cassius Jeremy, KJ’s father and best friend, who uprooted them from their championship winning team in Oakland with no notice to accept the new head coach position at Beverly. Cassius and KJ face unexpected challenges with the Eagles football team, as they aim to bring back Beverly’s glory days, which is easier said than done given that two-time state champions, South Crenshaw High, stand in their way. And one of KJ’s biggest rivals at South Crenshaw is returning high schooler Khalil, who struggles to focus on school and his rekindled love of football, whilst being pulled into trouble and gang life by his father. Amina, determined to be seen as grown by those around her, especially her dad Preach, gets caught up between KJ and Khalil, while also looking for answers to what really happened the night her mother died. A mother she desperately needs now as she navigates becoming a woman. Through it all, the OG Vortex and the new teens will lean on and learn from each other, while exploring new friendships and old rivalries both on and off the field.

LAST DAYS OF SUMMER - Summer is ending and as the new school year is about to start, so is a new chapter. As the new QB coach at Crenshaw, Jordan is caught between being his players coach and their friend, which causes discord with his boss, Coach Bobby and his starting quarterback, Yasi. Meanwhile, Kingston's world is upended when he learns the secret that his parents, Cassius and Ava, have been keeping from him. Elsewhere, Khalil challenges the school system, Amina strives for more independence, and Coop and Layla struggle to find their footing in a new dynamic.

A SERIES OF FIRSTS - As Cassius and KJ navigate their first day at Beverly and South Crenshaw High, they struggle to find their way in unfamiliar surroundings. When Yasi antagonizes Khalil, Jordan steps in at Amina’s urging. Olivia comes to town to pay tribute to Coach Billy Baker, but when she seemingly keeps avoiding Layla, their friendship is tested. Elsewhere, Coop’s nerves take over on her first day of law school. Later, Olivia learns something life changing, and Jordan has a proposal for Khalil.

IT'S GAME TIME - Football is back, and it's the first games of the season for Beverly and South Crenshaw. When South Crenshaw's latest addition - Khalil - remains sidelined, Jordan and Coach Bobby clash over his next steps. Elsewhere, The Eagles' devastating loss leads to finger-pointing from KJ. Later, Cassius brings KJ to a South Crenshaw game in hopes that Khalil's positive attitude will be a lesson to KJ. Finally, Layla offers advice to Coop about Amina, KJ seeks to right his wrongs, and Jordan makes a startling discovery.

LOYALTIES AND LEGACIES - After Beverlyʼs humbling loss, KJ is determined to turn things around by looking to Jordan Baker's old plays, but Cassius encourages him to forge his own legacy instead. Elsewhere, Layla refuses to work with pop star Elle Grant over controversial social media posts she made as a teen, while Coop advocates for second chances. When Khalil's gang-member father Marqui shows up unannounced at school, he pressures Khalil to ignore his new priorities, leaving him torn between two worlds. Later, Ava attempts to mediate the conflict between Cassius and KJ, and the Jordan Baker mystery continues to unfold.

When Tori makes a pass at KJ, he finds his heart pulled in two directions. Khalil reckons with the conflict between his new life and his father's influence. Coop attends a law panel, and the professor's intentions might not be entirely professional. Cassius offers KJ fatherly advice. Finally, Amina catches KJ off guard with an interesting proposal.

CROSSROADS - Khalil must choose between lying for his father and a better path for himself. Patience gets an opportunity that tests her relationship with Coop, and KJ's fake relationship with Amina draws Tori's interest. Jordan uses Grandpa Willie's party as an opportunity to further investigate his theory about Coach Bobby, and his plan has unintended consequences.

IT'S COMPLICATED - Cassius struggles to come to terms with a hard truth, and Layla lends him an ear at her lounge. Elsewhere, Coop and Patience find themselves at a crossroads, and they face their future head-on for the first time. Finally, Amina makes a confession to Khalil.

KJ and Amina make amends, and Khalil plans something special for Amina. Meanwhile, Layla supports Elle's career in the music industry. Finally, Amina embarks on a determined quest for the truth about her mother.

THE PAST IS PRESENT - Spencer James and Darnell Hayes return to town, organizing a spirited night out aimed at resolving the escalating rivalry between Cassius and Jordan - a tension that has started to affect Khalil and KJ. Meanwhile, Coop struggles with haunting memories from her past, finding comfort in Spencer's guidance. Later, Khalil gets support from Spencer, Jordan, and others. Finally, Cassius offers words of wisdom to Spencer on his next chapter.

Meanwhile, KJ and Tori's relationship reaches a turning point, and Amina is surprised by Khalil's actions. Lastly, Cassius and KJ get an unexpected visit.

SECRETS REVEALED - KJ grapples with a new discovery about the Jeremy family. He seeks comfort in Amina, who arranges a surprise visit from KJ's mother, Ava. Ava finally has answers to lingering questions in her marriage to Cassius. Meanwhile, Khalil gets an unexpected visit on his 18th birthday, and Amina has a tough choice to consider. Finally, a tragedy unearths secrets.

In the aftermath of his attack, Jordan finds comfort in Olivia and Layla's support. They push him to finally speak with Cassius about their unresolved conflict. KJ tries to make things up to Tori. Elsewhere, Coop tries to help Khalil overcome his overwhelming guilt about Jordan's situation, but Jordan himself wonders if Khalil would be better off without him in his life. Finally, Layla offers comfort to Khalil, and Jordan makes a big decision.

SEASON FINALE - On the day of the South Crenshaw vs. Beverly game, KJ learns news that throws him off, and Cassius and Ava try to help. Meanwhile, Jordan is determined to return to the game despite outside concerns. Amina learns good news about her future, but she is unsure of what choice to make. Coop is ready for the next step with Breonna. Khalil gets support from an unlikely source. Lastly, KJ makes a bold declaration, and the game comes down to the wire.

Production[]

Upon the renewal, Brad Schwartz, the President of Entertainment has stated:[1]

"Through six seasons, All American remains a top-performer for The CW as the network’s most-watched series across all linear and digital platforms."

Filming[]

Production for the season began in October 2024.[3] Production was temporarily halted on January 9, 2025, due to the Los Angeles wildfires, and resumed on January 13.[4]

Casting[]

On June 24, 2024, it was announced that Daniel Ezra would not return as a series regular.[5] On September 24, 2024, it was announced that Samantha Logan, Cody Christian, Karimah Westbrook, Monet Mazur and Chelsea Tavares would not return as series regulars as well, but it was confirmed that Ezra would make guest appearances, as would others of the former main cast members, and also direct. It was also reported that Osy Ikhile and Nathaniel McIntyre joined the main cast respectively as Cassius Jeremy, Beverly High’s new football coach, and Kingston Jeremy, Cassius’ son, while Antonio J. Bell and Alexis Chikaeze were promoted to series regulars.[6][7]

On October 10, 2024, it was reported that Logan would guest star on the second episode of the season.[8] On January 29, 2025, ahead of the season premiere, Nkechi Okoro Carroll stated that almost every former cast member "comes back in some capacity multiple times [during the] season". Da'Vinchi, Tavares, and Mazur were all confirmed to make guest appearances.[9]
