History[]

Season Four[]

In "Changes", Davita is first introduced when she hands Spencer the notes from class and says that she's a fan of his. They talk about his fumbles in the previous game and against her alma mater last year. Davita tells him that she knows setbacks can be crippling and that Coach Garrett is especially tough on freshmen. She bets that he can win him over.

Davita shows up at Spencer's practice, much to his surprise, as practices are closed. She explains that it's closed to the public, but not to fellow athletes. Spencer correctly guesses that she's on the soccer team from the marks on her shin, tan lines, and grass stains. Davita has a proposition for Spencer. She has a way for him to get back on the field and back on Garrett's radar in a good way, but it'll be a slight departure from the Spencer James who barely posts on social media. She notes that endorsements from NIL deals can be very advantageous to athletes. She suggests a social media makeover to make him as big as the athlete he is. Spencer has his doubts, but Davita assures him that she's a branding and marketing major, and she's good at it. Spencer thanks her for the offer, but he's sticking to figuring it out on the field.

After receiving Spencer's DM, Davita meets him in the training room to pitch her branding idea. She shares a story about an athlete who, after struggling with family issues and being benched, took control of her narrative. She posted a video about her mom’s illness, which went viral, leading to sponsorships and six-figure endorsement deals. That athlete was Davita, but Spencer doubts the approach will work for him. She starts to walk away, saying she won't waste time if he’s not open-minded. Spencer agrees to give it a shot.

Davita is helping Spencer film a new video. She encourages him to go to a gym relaunch event, saying that publicity is a good thing. Spencer is uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Davita reassures him that it's just a casual conversation, two athletes talking shop.

At the event, she meets Olivia and Layla, explaining that his Instagram video is dropping tonight as part of his rebranding. She believes that branding and marketing deals will help Spencer get back on the field. However, Olivia believes that hard work on the field is what earns players playing time, not posting thirst traps for likes. Davita speaks from experience: fan demand can influence the depth chart. With NIL, it's a whole new world.

Spencer still doubts that social media will get him on the field, but Davita believes he stopped seeing his own potential. The video's goal wasn’t just to land a partnership, but to change how Spencer views himself. With hundreds of likes and comments from fans worldwide, Spencer, who was once full of self-doubt, now believes in himself. Davita hopes he can convince one more person.
