Daniel Ezra is an English actor. He portrays Spencer James in All American in a starring role.[1] He is known for his roles in films such as Prey (2014), Blood Cells (2014), and The Missing (2014).
Biography[]
With the show’s high critical acclaim and loyal following, Ezra is now lauded as one of the industry’s most exciting and promising rising stars. He was included as one of Variety’s top Television Stars to Watch in 2018 for his role as Spencer James.
In 2017, Ezra received a nomination for the coveted Ian Charleson Award, which recognizes the best classical stage performances in Britain by actors under the age of 30, for his standout performance as Sebastian in The National Theatre’s live production of “Twelfth Night” directed by Simon Godwin. Additional theater credits include “Trouble in Mind” at the Theatre Royal Bath and “Romeo and Juliet” for the Bristol Old Vic.
On television, Ezra can be seen as Nathaniel Wilson in “A Discovery of Witches,” starring opposite Matthew Goode and Theresa Palmer. The drama-fantasy series centers on Diana Bishop, a historian and witch, who must solve a mystery with the help of vampire, Matthew Clairmont. Produced by Bad Wolf in the U.K., the show is currently airing on Sky One and has since received a double renewal for seasons two and three. It has also aired on the BBC in the U.S. Prior to this, he played a leading role alongside Adrian Lester and Sophie Okonedo in AMC and BBC drama “Undercover” and in the acclaimed second series of “The Missing” opposite Keeley Hawes.
His other television credits include Ghana Jones in “The Village,” Cameron Thorne in ITV’s “Vera,” Ajamu in Paul Abbott’s Chanel 4 series “No Offence,” Alan Gill in ITV’s second season of “Prey” and DC Ashton in ITV’s “Prime Suspect 2973.”
Ezra was previously seen as Thom in the drama feature “Blood Cells,” which premiered at Venice International Film Festival in 2014, followed by its UK premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2015.
In 2014, Ezra graduated from the British drama school, East 15.
While in production, Ezra remains in Los Angeles, but resides in London.
